Welcome to Broad Street Ministry's Volunteer Page!
In adherence with recent CDC guidelines, we require all volunteers to wear a face mask for the duration of their volunteer shift. We will also be taking the temperatures of all volunteers upon arrival.
Visit our facebook and instagram for updated information.
At Broad Street Ministry, a meal is more than a meal - it is a re-introduction to human connection and the wraparound services our guests need to thrive. Please scroll to read the following information about our volunteer opportunities and policies:
Group Reservations
We are currently not accepting group reservations. If you have any questions regarding group reservations, please email our Volunteer Coordinator at volunteer@broadstreetministry.org
Breaking Bread
*We are not currently hosting our Breaking Bread volunteer opportunity in adherence with CDC guidelines*
We are still providing a to-go meals for our guests Monday through Friday, from 11:30-1:00pm out of our building located at 315 South Broad Street.
Volunteers help sort and distribute mail to the numerous guests using BSM as their permanent mailing address. You must be at least 18 years old, able to speak and read English fluently, and able to bend over to sort mail. Currently, more than 3,200 people use Broad Street Ministry as their mailing address. This incredibly vital service allows our guests to have a secure place to receive those important pieces of mail such as birth certificates and social security checks, while also being able to keep in touch with loved ones.
315 Threadz (Clothing Closet)
Act as a personal shopper for our guests in the 315 Threadz Clothing Closet! Help guests pick out up to three items of donated clothes. Also assist in sorting, stocking and updating our clothing inventory.
Personal Care
*We are not providing Personal Care as a volunteer opportunity for the time being*
Extend radical hospitality by helping guests sign up for essential toiletry items, filling their orders, or distributing them to guests in a way that protects their dignity and discretion.
Community Service
Broad Street Ministry cannot sign for or approve any court-mandated volunteer opportunities at this time.
Art Table
BSM's art programs are currently exclusively run by our partners. That said, there are no art volunteer opportunities available at this time through BSM.
Donations
Please consider giving a monetary donation to Broad Street Ministry. For $1,500 we can provide a nourishing meal and stabilizing services for up to 500 of our guests. $500 opens the Personal Care Pantry for all guests during a meal. $250 supports the BSM Clothing Closet during a meal. $100 delivers a year of personal mail services for one guest. If you're interested in making a monetary donation, please click here.
For clothing donations please reach out to our Donations Coordinator at donate@broadstreetministry.org. All donations must be scheduled, and we can only accept certain items at certain times of the year.

Reminder
Please remember that the times we ask volunteers to come in each day and the amount of volunteers we ask for each day are very intentional. In order to get the dining room set up and to ensure that our guests have access to the meals and other services that they count on each day we ask that you are at Broad Street Ministry on time and that you do show up for any opportunities to which you've committed.
If for some reason you have to cancel on a date you’ve signed up for, please cancel your slot online so that another volunteer can take your place.
Thank you for dedicating your time to make a difference!
